Innovation is only one of many words to describe Dolce Enoteca e Ristorante. Located in the new Bridge Street Towne Centre, Dolce is quickly becoming the Italian restaurant destination of choice for many North Alabamians. Hip, sexy, sophisticated, and an ambience quiet different from anything that I've witnessed, Dolce is a true unique dining experience.
Dolce's dim lighting and calming decor is the perfect setting. With an eclectic style, but based on Feng Shui, you have an Eastern influenced design. Lights are left low to give you a sense of a little privacy. There is even a chandelier hovering over the dining area.
With 50% off food every Sunday and me being the budget conscious single woman, this was the perfect opportunity for my first visit to Dolce. We had reservations with Opentable.com, and I so recommend that site.
When we arrived, I gave them my name and we were taken to our table immediately. We sat in the top tier, behind the bar. With one black leather chair on one side of the table, and a very, very long dinner sofa w/cushion on the other side, you could see that a lot of attention went into detail with designing Dolce's theme. Our charming server passes out menu's and presents us with bread, salami and ricotto cheese, as well as a slew of suggestions. Our server was very polite, attentive and courteous, but did not crowd us.

My main course was the Lemon and Parsley Crusted Halibut. I did not order wine as usual on this night. Note: Dolce's wine list is in a class of its own. The meaning of the word Enoteca, means "wine library", and that is exactly what their wine list looks like. The halibut was a tender filet with crispy-roasted zucchini, tomatoes, and potatoes in a buttery pan sauce. Being the fish lover, the halibut was absolutely divine and satisfied my palate.
The ambience and atmosphere are distinguishing factors at Dolce, but that in no way takes away the experience from the cuisine. I've visited Dolce twice now, and I can see why North Alabama has embraced this fine Italian eatery.

Thank you Jamie...as of today I think the bug that hit my blog is gone for now. Problems with Sitemeter, traffic-tracking software that microsoft does not trust.
thanks
