Statistics have shown that produce purchased in supermarkets, may have been shipped from distant states and countries traveling an average of 1,300 miles for as long as a week to 14 days. I don't know about you guys, but here at Caddystage we want to support our local Farmer's Markets in North Alabama.
On a recent trip to the Morgan and Madison County Farmer's Market I knew I had to showcase what buying local means to these local farmers. Family farms are the foundation of our rural communities. Communities benefit from the local farmers as they purchase their goods from local merchants and provide jobs which enhance the local economy. This is a winning combination for all of us.

Growing up in Hartselle, fresh vegetables were the staple of our dinners. Every year my family and grandparents would have the most beautiful gardens. The only thing that I disliked about it was the manual labor that went into these masterpieces. I understand what these farms mean to local farmers; it's their blood and lifeline.

To the right you will see my video album of Morgan and Madison County's Farmer's Markets. I hope you enjoy it as much as I liked taking the photos. Please support your local Farmer's Market.
