It must be an honor and privilege to be voted Best Restaurant Overall in the 2007 Valley Planet Reader's Poll along with a prestigious AAA, 3 Diamond , rating since 2005. Owner Paul Thornton of Pauli's has succeeded in prosperity and success. He has achieved what one aims or wants to be.
After a recent trip to the Farmer's Market in Huntsville I visited Pauli's for lunch. This would be their first day for serving lunch and would be the perfect opportunity to post about my experience here on Caddystage.
As I entered Pauli's, the staff was courteous, attentive, knowledgeable and the atmosphere was perfect.
As I checked over their Lunch menu, I was excited to see that they offered Calamari and Hummus. A lover of fried squid and to top that off with Hummus and Pita chips, I was set. Let's not forget about the wine here. I ordered a glass of 2004 d'Arenburg, The Footbolt, Shiraz; country of origin is Australia. Pauli's has maintained an Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator since 2005.
The food was super! The Calamari came with Red Chile Aioli that had a kick to it; spicy but delicious. I wouldn't have it any other way. The Hummus, a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dip, was so delicious with the baked Pita Chips. 'The Footbolt', Shiraz, well let's put it this way, I will now have to find this great bottle of wine and stock up. Great job Executive Chef Matthew Martin and bartender Marcel!
I will make another pilgrimage to Pauli's soon to have dinner and check out Vinotini. Being an extension of Pauli's, Vinotini is a great place to unwind after work or if your just in the mood for the Best Bar food and a cocktail. So, I look forward to blogging more about my experience with Pauli's and Vinotini.
Here at Caddystage, I am priviledge and blessed to be able to enjoy my life and talk about The Best of North Alabama. I want to reflect on what's good - and that is ever so hopeful and satisfying.
note: Thank you Paul for your hospitality.
