Cindy Eats Huntsville: The Jazz Factory

"Shoot! I made a wrong turn!".... I hate Yahoo maps and yet I rely on them when I need directions.  To bad my Toyota doesn't have a navigation system.  And may I add that I've been here before (The Jazz Factory) but sometimes I get lost and bewildered.  Plus, Bev, my dearest friend was late as usual and I had reservations at The Jazz Factory at 8p.m.

Finally I found The Jazz Factory and I paid $2 parking in the parking deck on Clinton Ave., right behind Randolph Ave.  We made it inside at about 7:30, checked in with the hostess and we had time to go upstairs to a bar/pool area to have a drink.

Our bartender, Bryan,  suggested we drink a Makula Pinotage (South African) 2006 wine.  With me being a red wine drinker I thought why not.  The Makula was excellent so I bought the bottle and we actually had enough for 2 people with dinner included.

          On Cindy's Menu

hor doeuvres- Chipotle 3-Cheese Fondue w/Cognac Flambe
Seared Five-Spiced Duck Breast w/Garlic Fried Rice, Green Beans and Cognac-Demi Glace

          On Beverly's Menu

Bourbon Angus Ribeye served w/Sweet Potato Hash and sauteed Green Beans

May I mention I normally or NEVER order an appetizer because I have realized that wine will suppress your appetite.  Bev suggested and I went along for the ride.

The food was excellent.  My Seared Five-Spiced Duck was out of this world and our server Daryl was gracious.  Overall the atmosphere, decor and ambience was wonderful along with listening to a jazz band while you eat... well you can't beat that....
